The Mission Selector Screen shows the missions available to play or replay.
The green arrows move the screen display up or down to access all the missions.
Click on an icon to select a mission.
If a child is part way through a mission, that mission will be highlighted in green.
The number of stars won on each mission is displayed below the mission icon. A child can
repeat any missions to try and increase the number of stars they have won.
Clicking the cross will close the mission. If a child is part way
through a mission their place in the mission is automatically
saved.
Use the Highlighter Paintbrush (when available) to mark things
on screen in different colours. Click on the brush and move it
on screen, and click again. Dip in the paint to change colour.
Use the Counting Hand (when available) to count items on
screen. Click on the hand to pick it up, move to the main
screen and click to see and hear the count. Click the 1 to
start a new count or the swirly arrow to clear all counts.
The Star Bar on
the left shows

awarded stars.
shapes or icons in the lower
or upper screen as directed.
Click on the blue arrow or
smiley face when directed
to move to the next screen.
At the end of a mission, the Agent may be awarded 1, 2 or 3 stars. Achieving 1 star is commendable for younger agents -
achieving 3 stars is a challenge to older agents. Missions can be played as many times as the child likes, perhaps to get a higher
star-rating, or just for the fun of it. A mission can be left partly completed, and the system will return the Agent to the correct
screen when they return to the last mission they were playing.
As well as awarding stars, missions also help an Agent to build up their Brain Gain. The Brain Gain meter at the top of the
Control Room shows how close they are to getting their next sticker.

The Control Room
The Mission Selector screen
The Control Room is where Agents can choose a mission to go on. Each mission focuses on
one or more key mathematical skills or concepts. Some missions are primarily based on
video, some on audio, and some on images, and they vary in length.
As well as setting ‘markable’ questions and challenges, missions call upon Agents to think,
speculate, speak, sing or move in certain ways. As with most of Mission to Learn, missions
can be played alone by the child, but children will benefit from adult involvement and
discussion - talking about mathematics and describing their thinking are vital skills.
